I want to send a BIG Thank You out to all of the wonderful ladies who came and played with me at Scary Scrapaganza!!! We had the most fun!
During the event EVERYONE did 3 projects! Fun! But tiring! LOL............We did a 2 page halloween layout and 2 halloween cards! Scary!
Some of our ladies were first timers so we started out with some fun introductions including our favorite thing to scrap hoard :) Of course we all know my favorite thing to scrap hoard is the CTMH paper packs..........EVEN if I don't love them...I think I have to have them....LOL.......and I think that is because CTMH retires them all eventually so I feel more pressure to get them before they are gone! LOL
All of the ladies received a kit that included everything that they needed to complete the projects below.......they also found in their goodies; an idea book and a gift from me :) For our newbies they had a hand crafted personalized check book cover which I like to give to everyone. The rest of the ladies recieved a package of chipboard pieces.
So these ADORABLE little bats where the inspiration for the layouts for Scary Scrapaganza! How cute are they? I made these super cute paper piecings for everyone from patterns that I purchased from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs......you can find some of the cutest ones there!
The paper was from the Hooligans paper pack which is now retired but you can find more like it HERE! And the ribbon was CTMH ribbon rounds :) And that is it :) On mine I kept embellishments to a minimum because I wanted those adorable little bats to be the main attraction :)
So all of the girls got to work recreating a layout similar to this........but with their own flair and personality! And they came up with some darling pages!
Everyone was so creative with their layouts! The all started with the exact same amount of paper and in the same sizes but not one layout looks the same :) So Cool!
We took little breaks now and then for some pizza and we had a couple of door prize drawings along the way! Our lucky winners won some christmas goodies! And to make the Hostess drawing more interesting everytime I mentioned Halloween the first person to yell Boo received an additional drawing entry! Our winner got Awesome goodies! Including a stamp set, clear cards, a sanding kit, and a couple of other little goodies!
The most challenging part of the workshop was definatly the layouts so the cards I had prepared were very simple.
We also found it a bit challenging to say Boo first! Of course that is what made it fun! I think we are all looking forward to the surprises of A Christmas Festival of Scraps! I know I am!
Both of these cards were so very simple to complete and both took less then 10 minutes! And yet have quite an impact, don't you think?
And As everyone prepared their cards they still managed to each come out with different looking projects :) And it was so fun to see what everyone else came up with!
As our fun day was coming to a close, I was able to get a few pictures of all of the different cards that everyone put together. On the mummy card they experimented with different inks for distressing.......I think we even had a purple and a green one :) I found this very exciting because while some of the ladies were pros :), some of these wonderful ladies had not done much distressing before....so we got to experiment with some different techniques and different tools! I loved it! One of my favorite things is distressing so it is so much fun to help others figure out their favorite ways to distress!
These adorable mummy cards were so simple! You take a plain white card and attach a black piece on front about 2 inches wide and then attach your googly eyes. The white strips (mummy wrap :) ) are each 1.5 inches. Distress each strip and then simply tack them down leaving the eye's peaking out! :) Easy Peasy!
The little googley eye black cards were even easier......if you are fortunate enough to find the self adhesive eyes - then even better! I think this card is pretty self expalanitory! LOL
If you didn't get to join us for Scary Scrapaganza, then I hope to see you next month for A Christmas Festival of Scraps! Hope you enjoyed checking out all of our projects! Feel free to leave some love!
XOXO
from the Little Scrap Corner!
